See All Reviews10 out of 10 would recommend. The staff were nice and welcoming, explained the menu and popular selections. The food was delicious I ordered the New Yorker sub and a smoothie. The sub had the perfect amount of meat, they didn't skimp and the smoothie was fresh with no sugar added just fruit and a bit of honey. Will be coming back and recommending to my coworkers
I am from Ohio, but I have family that lives on the East Coast. I frequently travel there and partake of the east coast subs. This past Saturday I ordered a chopped cheese from New York sub and grill here in Toledo that excited me because it was on the level of what I was used to getting on the East Coast. Actually, I thought it taste better than a number of those that I have had out east. So much so that I ordered another chopped cheese two days later, which is tonight, for Monday night for the football Game… and to my dismay, I was very disappointed. I don’t know if they got lucky the first time or if they just had a bad night tonight, but the sodium content was THROUGH THE ROOF on my chopped cheese sandwich I ordered today and I could not enjoy it. I don’t wanna give a bad rating because I’ve only eaten there twice so I just wanna say to New York Sub & Grill, please monitor your seasoning! This place can easily be a gem of a place for years to come. I will try at least two more times because the first time was SO PHENOMENAL! It’s hard to believe that this restaurant… as far as subs go, isn’t going to be around for a long time here in Toledo. So, to the cooks in New York sub & Grill… please do not over season, making your works of art salty! We definitely want seasoning. We definitely want flavor, but we don’t want so much of it that it TURNS US OFF! Flavor and seasoning yes… Saltines, no! Again, my rating of three stars would definitely be a five if the sandwich tasted the same the second time around as it did the first. I will be going back again! Hopeful, Foodie guy
My son heard this place had really great reviews and wanted to try it. I said we'll buy if you fly and tried to order online. You can't order through the restaurant website only a 3rd party delivery service eg. Doordash which always jacks the prices up to something ridiculous 😤. Tried to call and order pick up. The phone number is no longer in service 🤦♀️ My son still really wants to try them so hubs and I text him our order by the number on the menu photo and he drives off. As soon as he gets there he notices the numbers on the wall menu do not correspond to the numbers on the menu photo online. We text him our full order me: Philly Cheesesteak, fries, berry beets smoothie, hubs: Five Burroughs and healthy berry smoothie (I think), son: Brooklyn Bridge and mango smoothie. There was nowhere for him to sit and wait while the order was prepared sonhe just stood around and when he got home with the food each one of us had a mistake with our order. Both my son's and my subs had no onions or peppers (how do you make a Philly Cheesesteak without onions and peppers 🤷♀️?), they forgot my fries, and hub's and my smoothies were the wrong ones, but son forgot about the menu numbers not corresponding, so I'll split the difference in fault. But hub's was very different as it had banana and peanut butter (which he would never order, but also had he been allergic to peanuts...😬). ThisbisbwhybI gave service 3-stars. I gave the place a four star overall, because even though my son's and my order didn't have the peppers or onions the food itself was a 5-star, super delicious. Like REALLY good 🤤. Hubs also said his sandwhich was REALLY good. If these guys get their poop in a group this place would be 🔥. I would give them another chance.
